The bottom line: The G’zOne Boulder is a beefy, rough-and-tumble cell phone with a rich suite of multimedia features beneath its tough exterior, but we were ultimately disappointed with the call quality.

External screen wasn’t useful for camera, navigation or media features.

My friend has the extended battery and it lasts about 20 hours with about 2 hours of talk with standby.

Most of the features don’t work as well on the Boulder as they do on other phones, especially when it’s time to dry the phone off and actually make some calls, but that might be what you have to live with to have a phone that can take such punishment.

For a rugged phone, the Boulder packs a surprising range of messaging features, including SMS, MMS for picture messaging , IM and e-mail for AOL, MSN and Yahoo.
